The Health Ministry of the Government of India has reduced the qualifying percentile for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) by 31.807 for each category. 

The official notification reads, “Ministry has decided to lower the qualifying cut-off percentile for NEET MDS 2023 by 31.807 percentile for each category (General, SC/ST/OBC and UR-PWD) in pursuance of DCI’s MDS Regulations, 2017 and 2nd provision in clause 7(1) of DCI’s Master of Dental Surgery course (1st Amendment) Regulations, 2018.’’ 

‘’The qualifying percentiles for NEET MDS 2023 for the academic session 2023-24 now are: For General (UR/EWS), it is 18.193, for SC/ST/OBC (including PWD of SC/ST/OBC), it is 8.193, for UR-PWD, it is 13.193,’’ it added.

On March 20, the government released the NEET MDS Result 2023. The scorecard can be downloaded from the official website  by candidates. The scorecard includes mandatory information such as the roll number, NEET MDS rank, AIQ rank, and so on. 

According to the data, a total of 6,501 MDS seats are available via test under 50% AIQ, 50% state quota, and 100% seats in deemed/central universities and private colleges.

NEET MDS 2023 qualifying percentage is a minimal score that a candidate must attain in order to be eligible for counselling. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) established the standard and continues to raise it as new categories emerge. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to release the updated NEET MDS 2023 schedule soon.
