The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released a list of medical colleges that have increased the number of MBBS and PG seats. The list was published after the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) authorized the new UG and PG seats. Previously, in August, the commission emphasized that the MARB had not given renewal letters to certain of the medical colleges that claimed to have gotten approval.
Due to this, the NMC has now released the list of colleges with the total number of seats (UG and PG) after approval by MARB. The notice released states “It is clarified that this is these are the colleges approvals, LOPs or renewal given for this academic year.”
Medical institutes such as Meenakshi Medical College in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, Santhiram Medical College in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, GR Medical College Hospital and Research Centre in Karnataka, and GSL Medical College in Rajahmundry received fake or fraudulent letters. The Commission has also urged universities to disregard any bogus letters that may be in circulation.
NEET UG Admission 2023: Newly Added MBBS Seats
Along with the MCC, each state counselling committee (SCC) must update the seat matrix for NEET UG and PG entrance counselling.
