The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024, has been postponed. The Health Ministry will release new dates for the medical entrance exam shortly. The administration, citing the considerable controversy over probable misbehavior in the NEET-UG and UGC-NET programs, announced its determination to conduct an in-depth examination of the robustness of NEET-PG procedures, which would be carried out by the National Board of Examination for Medical Students.

NEET PG 2024 Postponed For Students’ Welfare

"It has accordingly been decided, as a precautionary measure, to postpone the NEET-PG scheduled to be held tomorrow (June 23). Fresh date of this examination will be notified at the earliest," the Health Ministry said, adding it "sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused to students".

The government has stated that the decision was made for the welfare of students and to ensure the primacy of NEET PG 2024. 

NTA Chief And Director General Replaced Amid Controversy

Meanwhile, just an hour before the announcement of the postponement, the government ordered the replacement of the NTA chief in charge of conducting the NEET UG and UGC NET.

Subodh Kumar Singh, the NTA Director General, has been replaced by Pradeep Singh Kharola, a retired Indian Administration Service (IAS) official. This demonstrates that the administration is taking concrete action against the perpetrators.
