Description

The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee has published the GATE 2025 official brochure, which contains all of the necessary information on the GATE examinations. This year's Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) will be held in February 2025. Candidates can check their exam times and the entire exam schedule on the official website.

The GATE 2025 registration window will open on August 24, 2024. Students can complete their registrations by September 26, 2024. Officials will also offer students an extended registration period. The registration deadline for GATE 2025 in the extended term is October 7, 2024. The GATE 2025 official brochure is available on the official website.

GATE Exams 2025

The GATE 2025 examinations will run for three hours. The exam will include 65 questions worth a total of 100 marks. Students can enter their exam hall 40 minutes before the start of the examinations and log in to begin reading the instructions 20 minutes before the exams. Candidates will be unable to login 30 minutes after the start of the examinations. 

GATE 2025 Examination Pattern And Marking Scheme

GATE 2025 will include a total of thirty test papers. All questions will be of the objective type. The test papers will include Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Types (NATs). Each multiple-choice question will be worth one or two marks in all papers and sections.

Marking scheme

Questions carry 1 mark and 2 marks

Negative marking

For a wrong answer chosen in a MCQ, there will be negative marking. 

For 1-markMCQ, 1/3mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. Likewise, for 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. 

There is no negative marking for wrong answer(s) to MSQ and NAT questions. There is no partial marking for any question.

GATE 2025 Results And Scorecard

The GATE 2025 results will be announced online shortly after the exams are completed. Following the announcement of the results, the GATE 2025 scorecard will be available for download from March 28 to May 31, 2025. Students should carry a soft copy of the GATE 2025 scorecard with them for admission and counseling purposes.
