Description
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has extended the registration deadline for the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2025. Candidates interested in applying for the Civil Services (Prelims) 2025 and the Indian Forest Services (Prelims) 2025 exams can now submit their application forms until February 18, 2025, via the official UPSC website. Additionally, the correction window will be open from February 19 to February 25, 2025.
Previously, the application deadline for the Civil Services (Prelims) exam was set for February 11, 2025, but this has now been extended. The official notice mentions, "The last date for submission for CS(P)-2025 & IFoS(P)-2025 has been extended till 18.02.2025 (06:00 PM). Further, the Correction window of 7 days shall now be available till expiry of 7 days from the next day after the closure of application window i.e. from 19.02.2025 to 25.02.2025.”
Candidates can apply for the exam on the UPSC online portal. To apply, they must first create a One-Time Registration (OTR) profile, which remains valid for a lifetime. If they have already registered, they can directly proceed with filling out the application form.

Steps To Apply For UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2025
First visit the official website.
Now click on the link on the homepage.
On the new page, create your OTR profile.
Once registered, log in and complete the application form.
Pay the application fee and submit the form.
Download the confirmation page and keep a printed copy for future reference.
The application fee is Rupees 100. However, female candidates, SC/ST candidates, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are exempt from the fee. The payment should be made online.
This year, the exam will fill approximately 979 vacancies. For further details, candidates are advised to visit the UPSC official website.
