The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has activated the application correction facility for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February 2026 from December 23, 2025. Candidates who completed their CTET 2026 registration within the stipulated deadline can now modify specific details in their application form through the official website.

The correction window will remain open until December 26, 2025. After this deadline, no changes will be permitted under any circumstances. Applicants are strongly advised to verify all information carefully and make required updates within the given timeframe to avoid issues during subsequent stages of the examination.

CTET 2026: Editable Application Details

During the correction period, candidates are allowed to revise the following particulars:

  • Candidate’s name

  • Father’s and mother’s names

  • Date of birth

  • Gender

  • Category

  • Residential address

  • Mobile number and email ID

  • Choice of paper (Paper I or Paper II), subject to seat availability in the selected city

  • Subject selected under Paper II

  • Language I and/or Language II

  • Name of the last institution, college, or university attended

Important: Preferences related to the exam city cannot be modified. Exam centres will be allotted based on availability, and requests for city changes will not be considered.

CTET 2026: Examination Pattern

The CTET is conducted for candidates aspiring to become teachers in schools across India. The exam consists of two papers:

  • Paper I: For teaching Classes 1 to 5

  • Paper II: For teaching Classes 6 to 8

Each paper includes 150 multiple-choice questions, with one mark awarded for every correct answer. There is no negative marking, and the duration of each paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes. Candidates may opt to appear for either paper or both, depending on their teaching preferences.

CTET February 2026: Registration Trends

CBSE has reported that over 25 lakh candidates successfully registered for the CTET February 2026 examination. The application process was conducted over 22 days, from November 27 to December 18, 2025.

When compared to earlier sessions, the February 2026 cycle has seen a notable rise in registrations. In CTET July 2024, approximately 20.25 lakh candidates applied, while CTET December 2024 recorded about 16.72 lakh registrations.

A significant surge was observed during the final days of the application window. On December 16, around 1.93 lakh candidates registered, which increased to 3.53 lakh on December 17, and peaked at 4.14 lakh applications on December 18.

The CTET February 2026 examination is scheduled to be held on February 8, 2026.
