The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced a delay in the release of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026 and Indian Forest Service (IFS) 2026 notifications. Aspirants can view the official notice on the UPSC website.

As per the earlier schedule, the notifications for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 and the Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination 2026 through the CSE (Prelims) 2026 were expected to be issued on January 14, 2026. However, UPSC has now postponed their release. According to the commission, the decision has been taken due to administrative reasons, and the revised notification date will be announced soon.

Previously, the online application process for both examinations was planned to begin on January 14, 2026, and continue until February 3, 2026, as mentioned in the annual examination calendar. The Preliminary Examination was tentatively scheduled to be conducted on May 24, 2026.

With the postponement of the notification, it remains uncertain whether the scheduled dates for the CSE Prelims 2026 and IFS Prelims 2026 will also be revised.

UPSC Civil Services Exam 2026: Application Process

Once the official notification is released, candidates will be able to submit their applications by following these steps:

• First visit the official website.

• Now click on the link on the homepage.

• Complete the registration process by providing the required details.

• Log in using the registered credentials.

• Fill out the application form and pay the applicable fee.

• Submit the form and download the confirmation page.

• Take a printout for future reference.

Candidates are advised to regularly check the official UPSC website for the latest updates and further announcements related to the examination.
