The Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) has extended the registration deadline for the Junior Engineer (JE) recruitment 2026. This extension comes after several candidates faced technical problems while submitting their applications through the online portal.

The recruitment drive aims to fill 2,809 Junior Engineer positions across Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering disciplines in various government departments of Bihar. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official BTSC website.

Initially, the application deadline was January 12, 2026, but after receiving complaints regarding portal issues, the commission has extended the last date. The new deadline for online applications is now January 30, 2026.

Candidates are advised to verify their eligibility and ensure they meet the educational requirements before applying.

BTSC JE Recruitment 2026: Vacancy & Eligibility

As per the official notification, vacancies are divided among three engineering streams. Candidates must have a diploma in the relevant discipline from a recognized institute to be eligible.

The age requirement for applicants is 18 to 37 years as of the cut-off date. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates from reserved categories as per government norms.

Application Fee

Candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 100, which should be paid online via the payment gateway on the official portal.

Selection Process

The recruitment process will involve three stages:

• Written Examination

• Document Verification

• Medical Examination

Only candidates who clear all stages will be considered for final appointment.
