The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has declared the results of the GPSC State Tax Inspector (STI) Preliminary Examination 2026 for the Class-3 post. Along with the result, the Commission has also published the Final Answer Key for the examination conducted under Advertisement No. 27/2025–26. This announcement is an important step for candidates moving forward to the Main Written Examination stage.

The preliminary examination was held on January 4, 2026. Based on the evaluation, a total of 5,783 candidates have been provisionally shortlisted to appear for the mains exam, subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions and adherence to the recruitment rules specified in the official notification.

Provisional Shortlisting for Main Examination

Candidates selected at the preliminary stage should note that the qualification is provisional in nature. All shortlisted candidates will be required to submit a fresh Detailed Application Form for admission to the Main Written Examination. The Commission will issue separate instructions regarding the application process for the next stage.

The GPSC has also released the final answer key after reviewing objections received against the provisional version. Following the review, six questions were dropped from the evaluation, and marks were redistributed proportionately across the remaining questions.

GPSC STI 2026 Preliminary Exam Cut-Off Marks

The qualifying cut-off for each category has been determined based on the marks secured by the last candidate in the respective category merit list. The category-wise cut-off scores are as follows:

• General / EWS / SEBC / SC (Common): 91.37

• General / EWS / SEBC / SC (Female): 84.45

• ST (Common): 81.67

• ST (Female): 75.39

• Ex-Servicemen: 30.02

• PwD Group A: 55.49

• PwD Group B: 45.60

• PwD Group C: 84.97

• PwD Group D: 24.47 (d), 56.73 (e)

Marks Availability and Important Updates

Candidates can view their individual marks from February 9, 2026, up to 8:30 PM by logging in to the official GPSC website using their credentials. Bonus marks have been awarded to eligible candidates, including widows and sportspersons, as per applicable government resolutions.

Applicants are advised to regularly check the Commission’s website for updates related to the Main Written Examination schedule.
