Score Card Components
The following components are displayed in the CMAT scorecard
1. Overall and Sectional CMAT score
2. All India Rank of the Test Taker
All through the earlier CMAT exams, the test takers could immediately apply for admission after the release of the CMAT result as it contained Percentile scores, Raw scores, and Ranks. Since all the institutes announce their likely CMAT cut-off percentile well in advance, it was easy for the applicants to check their corresponding percentile and apply.
All the leading management institutes accepting CMAT scores now have to decide their cut-off based on raw score or rank or both. These B schools like GIM Goa, Great Lakes, K J Somaiya, BIMTECH, and IMT Nagpur had already announced their expected cut-off percentile for the CMAT exam. Now they will have to devise again their admission criteria and cut-offs without the CMAT percentile.
Over the years CMAT exam has remained at a moderate difficulty level. Since there is no percentile awarded this year, the CMAT accepting colleges are devising the CMAT cut-offs based on CMAT scores and ranks of the candidates as is done in GMAT and NMAT exams.
CMAT 2024: Mode of Selection
Most of the B-Schools conduct Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI) to select candidates for MBA/PGDM programs post the declaration of CMAT exam results. Each institute conducts the admission independently and according to its academic cycle. Candidates must fill out the admission forms of their preferred institutes to be eligible for the selection process. MBA admission through CMAT includes three main processes:
a. Shortlisting of candidates based on CMAT score
b. Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds
c. Final selection for MBA admission
MBA Colleges Accepting CMAT Score: City-Wise
CMAT cut-offs and graduation marks criteria may vary for different MBA colleges thus, aspirants must select colleges after thoroughly checking the admission criteria of the institutes.
