NMAT by GMAC is a national-level entrance examination for admission into MBA courses offered by NMIMS and other top institutes accepting NMAT scores. NMAT is a national level entrance test conducted for MBA admissions at NMIMS University and other reputed B-Schools in India as well as abroad. Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies conducted NMAT until GMAC took over the authority. NMAT is designed keeping the test-taker's convenience in mind.
NMAT shares some features with GMAT as candidates are allowed to choose the preferred date during a testing window as well as self-schedule the test, time and venue, appointment date based on the availability of seats at the preferred test centre.
NMAT EXAM PATTERN
NMAT Exam Pattern has seen a few changes this year. NMAT exam will now be conducted in a revised pattern in two different testing modes Computer Based Test at Exam Centres and Online-Proctored test from home.
NMAT is an online exam of 360 marks. It consists of a total of 108 multiple-choice questions divided into 3 sections: Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning.

Scaled scores: Questions in the NMAT by GMAC™ exam are selected from the question pool for each examinee based on his or her performance on the questions previously answered. The questions a candidate receives are targeted at his or her ability level; therefore, a high- scoring candidate generally receives a more difficult sample of questions than a low-scoring candidate. The NMAT by GMAC™ exam is scored by first obtaining the candidate’s final ability estimate based on the probabilistic model approach of modern exam theory, and then transformed to a scaled score ranging from 12 to 120.
NMAT MODE OF EXAMINATION
NMAT Examination will be held as an Online Computer-based Test. Questions will be Objective type Multiple choice in nature.
NMAT MEDIUM OF EXAMINATION
The exam paper for NMAT Examination will be in English language Only.

Candidates willing to apply for NMAT Examination are required to fulfil certain conditions to be eligible for it. The candidate who does not satisfy the Eligibility criteria like Age, Minimum educational qualification etc., their candidature shall be rejected by the authorities. The candidate’s eligibility for NMAT Examination is based on the fulfilment of the following conditions:-

NMAT EXAM: NATIONALITY
There is no nationality criteria for NMAT.
NMAT EXAM: AGE LIMIT
There is no age limit to take the NMAT entrance exam.
NMAT EXAM: EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
1. Applicants should obtain a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute with at least 50 percent marks.
2. Final year students of Bachelor’s degree (regular) are eligible to apply for NMAT as well and get provisional admission. However, it is only after clearing the final year exam in the first attempt with at least 50 percent marks, that candidates would be offered final admission.

Candidates can choose their desired day during a testing window, as well as self-schedule the exam, time and place, and appointment date dependent on the availability of seats at the desired test center, as they may with the GMAT.
NMAT EXAMINATION SELECTION PROCESS
1. Post the NMAT examination and based on the NMAT first attempt scores, candidates will be shortlisted for MBA programs. The call letter will be declared on our website.
2. The selection process may include a psychometric test or Written Analytic Test along with a Personal interview.
3. Weightage will be given to academic performance and work experience.No separate call letter will be mailed.
4. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the application data in terms of academic marks obtained, work experience, and marks obtained in NMAT by GMAC™ and WAT - Personal Interview.

Structure
The NMAT by GMAC™ exam gives each candidate a randomly generated test from a pool of questions, delivered one at a time. The number of questions, difficulty levels, and the time limit for each of the sections is predetermined and, under normal administration conditions, are the same regardless of when and where the test is administered. Check-In
Exam at the Test Centre in India
On exam day, arrive at the Test Centre at least 45 minutes prior to your exam appointment. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, test takers also need to mandatorily submit a health self-declaration at the test center. This form will be provided to the test taker at the test center.
Please bring the following documents with you:
a. Confirmation email (this can be shown on your mobile or taken as a printout)

NMAT 2023: Mode of Selection
The NMAT selection process for MBA admission in NMAT score accepting colleges is decided by each individual institute and differs from college to college.
For example, MBA admission in NMIMS Mumbai is based on NMAT score, Case Discussion, and Personal Interview; MBA admission in K J Somaiya based on the NMAT selection process includes weightage for NMAT exam score, Case Analysis, and Personal Interview.
However, the NMAT selection process in many other Universities and B-schools like VIT Vellore may not include Case Analysis but GD and Interviews only while a few others do not have Group Discussions in their Personal Interview round.
