BITS Pilani offers UG, PG, and PhD programmes to nearly 17,000 plus students across its campuses in Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai. BITS Pilani has established itself as a symbol of Excellence and was declared as an Institution of Eminence by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
DETAILS OF BITS HD (BITS HIGHER DEGREE) EXAMINATION
The test will be a computer based online test conducted by BITS Pilani at dedicated Centers in different cities of India. Computer based online test means the candidate sits in front of a computer and the questions are presented on the computer monitor and the candidate submits the answers through the use of keyboard & mouse. Each computer is connected to a server, which prepares the question set and delivers it to the candidate on the computer.
DETAILS OF THE ONLINE TEST
Test I
Duration: 45 Minutes
Total No of questions: 30
Test I is compulsory for all students who are applying for any of the Higher Degree programmes of the Institute and will consist of the following sections:

Test II
Duration: 105 Minutes

This paper will attempt to test the student’s grasp of the basic subjects of his discipline. The discipline courses of different degreeprogrammes of BITS have been used for constructing the questions.
Test for Software Systems
Duration: 60 Minutes
Total number of questions: 50
This special test for Software Systems is required for only those students who are applying for M.E. Software systems.
Test for M.E. Sanitation Science, Technology and Management
Duration: 60 Minutes
Total number of questions: 50
This special test for Sanitation Science, Technology and Management is required for only those students who are applying for M.E. Sanitation Science Technology and Management.
Exam Language: All the questions and instructions of the test will be in English only.
Marking Scheme
For all the above tests, all questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions); each question with four answer choices, only one being the correct choice. Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark. No marks are awarded or deducted for questions not attempted. While the candidate can skip a question, the computer will not allow the candidate to choose more than one option as the correct answer.
All the questions and instructions of the test will be in English only.
The questions will be selected at random from a large question bank. Different candidates will get different question sets. An expert committee will ensure that the question sets are of comparable difficulty level, content, question type etc. In this matter the decision of the expert committee will be final and binding on the candidate.

The criteria for eligibility BITSAT are decided by the conduction body itself.
The candidate’s eligibility for BITSAT Examination is based on the fulfilment of the following conditions:-
1. Nationality
2. Age Limit
3. Educational Qualifications & Minimum Marks
BITSAT: NATIONALITY
All Indian and International candidates are eligible to apply for BITSAT examination. The admission procedure is same for International applicants as of Indian application.
BITSAT: AGE LIMIT

FILL BITSAT PG EXAM ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
1- Interested and eligible candidates should apply through the prescribed application form available online at http://www.bitsadmission.com. A hard copy of the application form is not required to be sent. However, candidates are advised to take a printout of the filled-in form and keep a copy with them for further reference.
2- While filling out the application form online, candidates are required to give preferences to programs which they wish to apply for. Please refer to the program-wise eligibility criteria in Annexure - 1 before filling out the application form.
3- Candidates who wish to be considered for admission must as instructed in the application form enter details of all relevant information asked.
4- Candidates who wish to write BITS HD Test are to give their preference for three-Test centers. (Those who give preference for M.E. Software Systems have to appear in the BITS HD test, and GATE/GPAT score has no relevance in deciding the merit position of the candidate.)
5- The completed application form along with the application fee should be submitted online by the prescribed deadline. The application fee is non-refundable.

BITSAT PG COUNSELLING
1- Results will be available on the official website
2- After this, the exam conducting body will release the merit list
3- The merit list will be based on the candidates' performance in the BITS HD exam
4- Candidates will have to appear for counseling according to the dates announced by the exam authorities
5- Cut off for the admissions will be published on the official website which will be the basis for the counselling procedure
6- 50% of the seats will be reserved for the candidates with GATE/GPAT scores
7- The candidates applying through GATE and GPAT scores have the option to make the advance fee payment

BITSAT PG 2024: Who can apply
A minimum of 60% for M.E. / M.Pharm in the qualifying Degree examination
Admission Modality
Admission to all M.E. (except Software systems) and M.Pharm. programs will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the BITS HD admission test or based on GATE/GPAT score. Admission to M.E. in Software Systems will be through the BITS HD test only.
(i) Consideration for admission only on the basis of GATE/GPAT score: Scores of GATE 2024 or GATE 2023 or GATE 2021 will only be considered for admissions to M.E. programs. Similarly, scores of GATE 2024 or GATE 2023 or GATE 2021 will only be considered for admission to the M.Pharm program. Candidates must ensure that their GATE/GPAT scores are valid to be considered for admission.
(ii) Consideration for admission only on the basis of marks obtained in the BITS HD online test
(iii) Consideration for admission based on both GATE/GPAT score and marks obtained in the BITS HD online test

BITSAT PG 2024: Who can apply
A minimum of 60% for M.E. / M.Pharm in the qualifying Degree examination
Admission Modality
Admission to all M.E. (except Software systems) and M.Pharm. programs will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the BITS HD admission test or based on GATE/GPAT score. Admission to M.E. in Software Systems will be through the BITS HD test only.
(i) Consideration for admission only on the basis of GATE/GPAT score: Scores of GATE 2024 or GATE 2023 or GATE 2021 will only be considered for admissions to M.E. programs. Similarly, scores of GATE 2024 or GATE 2023 or GATE 2021 will only be considered for admission to the M.Pharm program. Candidates must ensure that their GATE/GPAT scores are valid to be considered for admission.
(ii) Consideration for admission only on the basis of marks obtained in the BITS HD online test
(iii) Consideration for admission based on both GATE/GPAT score and marks obtained in the BITS HD online test
Program Wise Eligibility Criteria
Master of Engineering: Any integrated First Degree of BITS or it's equivalent with adequate preparation in a relevant engineering discipline
Master of Pharmacy: Any integrated First Degree of BITS or its equivalent with adequate preparation in a relevant pharmacy discipline
BITSAT PG 2024: How can I apply
1. Interested and eligible candidates should apply through the prescribed application form available online at http://www.bitsadmission.com/hd. A hard copy of the application form is not required to be sent. However, candidates are advised to take a printout of the filled-in form and keep a copy with them for further reference.
2. While filling out the application form online, candidates are required to give preferences to programs which they wish to apply for.
3. Candidates who wish to be considered for admission, as instructed in the application form, must enter details of all relevant information asked for.
4. Candidates who wish to write the BITS HD Test are to give their preference for three Test centers.
5. The completed application form along with the application fee should be submitted online by the prescribed deadline. Details of the mode of fee payment are available on the website while applying online. The application fee is non-refundable.
Note: Those who give preference for M.E. Software Systems have to appear in the BITS HD test, andGATE/GPAT score has no relevance in deciding the merit ranking of the candidate.

BITSAT PG 2024: Scheme of Exam
DETAILS OF BITS HD (BITS HIGHER DEGREE) TEST
The test will be a computer-based online test conducted by BITS Pilani at dedicated Centers in different cities of India. Computer-based online test means the candidate sits in front of a computer and the questions are presented on the computer monitor and the candidate submits the answers through the use of a keyboard& mouse. Each computer is connected to a server, which prepares the question set and delivers it to the candidate on the computer. The online tests will be conducted on 19th & 24th May 2024 and the candidates can choose the Center to take the test.
A. DETAILS OF THE ONLINE TEST
Test I: Duration: 45 Minutes & Total No of questions: 30
The test I is compulsory for all students who are applying for any of the Higher Degree programs of the Institute and will consist of the following sections:
a. Core Mathematics - 15 Questions
b. English Language Skills & Logical Reasoning -15 Questions
c. Total 30 Questions to be asked
Test II: Duration: 105 Minutes & Total number of questions: 70
Test II is for students applying to all Higher Degree programs except those who are applying for M.E. in Environmental Engineering and M.E. in Software Systems. This paper will attempt to test the student’s grasp of the basic subjects of his/her discipline. The discipline courses of different degree programs of BITS have been used for constructing the questions.
Test for Software Systems: Duration: 60 Minutes & Total number of questions: 50
This special test for Software Systems is required for only those students who are applying for M.E. Software Systems.
Test for M.E. Environmental Engineering Duration: 60 Minutes & Total number of questions: 50
This special test for Environmental Engineering is required for only those students who are applying for M.E. Environmental Engineering.
Important
a. For all the above tests, the questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions); each question with four answer choices, and only one is the correct choice. Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark. No marks are awarded or deducted for questions not attempted. While the candidate can skip a question, the computer will not allow the candidate to choose more than one option as the correct answer.
b. All the questions and instructions for the test will be in English only.
c. The questions will be selected at random from a large question bank. Different candidates will get different question sets. An expert committee will ensure that the question sets are of comparable difficulty level, content, question type, etc.

BITSAT PG 2024: Admission to the Examination Centres
The Institute will operate Test Centers in different cities other than Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad as previously stated. The Institute cannot guarantee that Test Centers will be set up in all these cities. The final list of Centers will be announced to candidates through the BITS website. Further, the Institute reserves the right to cancel any Test Center if such a situation arises. In such cases, those candidates allotted to these centers will be accommodated in alternate test centers including Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad.
The candidates must fully obey the rules of the Test Centers; otherwise, he/she will be automatically debarred from the test.
BITSAT PG 2024: Admit Card
All the students who successfully register for the test can easily download the admit card from the official website.
By following the below-mentioned steps, students can download the BITS HD 2023, Admit Card:
1. Visit the official website of BITS.
2. Click on the BITS HD 2024 Admit Card link.
3. Enter the BITS HD Application Number followed by the Date of Birth and Gender.
4. Click on the Submit button.
After clicking on the button, the admit card will be displayed on the screen. Students are advised to:
1. Take a printout of the admit card.
2. To affix the passport-size photograph on the space provided.
3. The admit card must be attested by the gazetted officer of the head of the institution.
BITSAT PG 2024: Result
Students can check their BITS HD Results on the official website of BITS HD. They can check the result by following these steps:
1. The link for the result is available on the institute’s official website.
2. Enter the BITS HD application form number, date of birth, and gender.
3. Click on the Show button.
4. The result will be displayed on the screen.
5. Students should take a printout for future reference.
BITSAT PG 2024: Mode of Selection
Preparation of merit list for admission: In the process of making final admission offers to the M.E. / M.Pharm. Programs, two separate merit lists will be prepared for each program; one based on GATE/GPAT score and the other based on Marks obtained in the BITS HD test. In each program, a maximum of 50% of the seats will be filled through GATE/GPAT scores and the other 50% by BITS HD test marks. The admission committee will consider a cut-off score in each category, based on the applications received and the seats available. If any seat in one category is not filled, it will be allocated to the other category. A final decision on this will be taken by the Admissions Committee and will be binding on all. Admission to the HD programs will be on the basis of merit only.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Admissions to the M.E. Software Systems program will be made only through the BITS HD Test.
